MIT B's frozen out by New London

Teams:MIT vs New London
Played:01/01/2010 @ New London, CT
Score: 14 - 22 MIT loss

MIT's strength in depth was illustrated by a squad of over 20 players traveling to New London to contest the B side game. Indeed such was the strength that MIT were able to contribute players to the New London team to ensure the game went ahead.

Having watched the A side lose out in ever deteriorating conditions the B side were determined to show off their wares and laughed off the driving snow and icy field conditions to contest the B side game.

New London had a strong first quarter with Jake and Dave M carrying a lot of ball. Indeed Jake was able to cross the line to record one of New London's two first half tries. MIT continued to battle however and manufactured some incredible line breaks given the Arctic conditions.

Having turned with the wind in the second half MIT's creative play was awarded with two fine scores from scrumhalf Jason and newly engaged (Congrats!) Maurice. New London were not to be outdone however and added two tries of their own to leave the final score 22-14 to the home side.

Great credit is due to these B-side players whose only defeat of the year came last weekend and who have put immense pressure on every A-side player at each and every practice. The line between A side and B side has become extremely blurred this season with many players stepping in seamlessly to the A-side team, MIT look forward to this continuing in the Spring.
