MIT B beat Framingham (A) in impressive fashion

Teams:MIT vs Framingham A
Played:03/31/2012 @ MIT
Score: 38 - 7 MIT win

MITs B-side opened their Spring season with a pair of games last Saturday. In the opening game the opposition was Division III A-side Framingham.
The MIT B side picked up where the A’s had left off and immediately pressured the Framingham defence. A strong carry from debutante prop Cory D set the tone for the attack as his aggressive straight lines gained copious yards for the home side. Indeed his directness going forward was paid off on the seventh minute as he received the ball inside the opposition 22 and carried it over for the opening try despite the attention of three defenders.
Framingham settled a little after this score and exerted defensive pressure at the breakdown leading to a few turnovers which they converted to points in the twelfth minute with a well worked try.
Another MIT debutante, Zach, however was soon making great inroads from full back spotting gaps and exploiting them well. After a surge up-field centre Jose scored an excellent try which Jason S converted to leave the score 17-7.
Framingham had barely time to react when winger Tom embarked on a mazy run cutting through their defence. He was on hand later in the move to score a great try and take the MIT tally to 22 points.
The second half continued in the same vein with MIT playing well in the open field with winger Jorge and centre John F shepherding the wide channel and denying the Framingham attack. John LeB proved a steadying influence on some of the newer backs and provided great direction for the team. Up front Kevin, Nick, Martin and Cody gave the backs a great platform to attack from. The Framingham defense found flanker Oggy too difficult to handle as he picked up three second half tries to leave the final score 38-7.
The man of the match award was shared by the two debutantes, Cory and Zach, who both made a huge impact on the game and look to have very promising careers ahead of them with the club.
